Miracle #1
*
Sunlight pours into the room through the clean windows. The curtains are drawn and the sky is a clear white outside. His eyes flutter open and he groggily sits up, before his eyes widen and shine with glee when he sees white solids caked on his windowsills. Now he's wide awake.
He's out of the bed in less than a second.
It had been snowing the night before, and it still is at the moment, little snowflakes floating gently to land on his windowsill. He smiled. It's still quite early, so he thinks of going back to sleep.
Except he sees something from the corner of his eye as he turns around. Looking back, his eyes widen and he blinks. And blinks. And blinks again.
"...Seriously?"
Slowly, a smile stretches onto his lips and his eyes crinkle up, filling with mirth.
There, outside his window, is the apple tree that has always been there and that he has grown to love, bare of any leaves or fruits. The tree looks beautiful from his window, its brown bark peppered with snow and frost. It's extremely pretty, to the point where he wonders if this is really the apple tree he looks at every single morning of every single day of every single month of every single year of his life.
But what intrigues him the most, though, is the hundreds upon hundreds of red ribbons tied onto the branches of the tree in cute little bows.
Someone had somehow meticulously tied hundreds of little red bows onto the tree.
His heart flutters in happiness and excitement because somehow he just knows who did this.
Hurriedly, he pulls on his jacket and hastily puts on his tattered shoes, not even bothering to put on some socks. He runs out of his warm little apartment and rushes to the elevator, a soft pitter patter filling up the empty hallways as his feet collide with the flooring.
He presses the 'down' button multiple times just for the hell of it and shuffles excitedly into it when the metal doors open. The ride down to ground floor is filled with thumping heartbeats and soft smiles and thoughts of a certain elfishly-eared giant who he really, truly loves.
The metal doors open once again with a soft ping and he rushes out of the front doors of the apartment building, scrambling around the corner towards the side of the worn down construction where the apple tree stands in all it's red-ribbon-ed glory.
Taking his time to admire from a distance, he slowly walks up to the tree and inspects the meticulously tied bows that adorn the tree prettily, almost as if they were the tree's leaves, or as if they grew from the tree like pretty little cherries.
As he inspects the tree, he figures out that the ribbons were probably tied the night before, as they lay stiff and frosty against the brown backdrop. Snowflakes catch on the red fabrics and it truly is very beautiful how white and red look when together. He walks around the tree in awe, looking at the neat handiwork from multiple angles.
He looks up at the branch over his head and sees a card stuck onto it, fluttering lightly in the winter wind. He stretches up to reach for it, grasping it tightly between his fingers. The card feels cold on his fingertips.
Carefully, he flips the card open and reads what is written inside.
A smile graces his lips and he laughs lightly at the silly words scripted onto the stiff paper with blue ink. He finishes reading the card and stares at it with adoration. With a last contented smile directed to the beautifully decorated tree, he slips back into the apartment building, the warmth of the heater inside welcoming him in a cozy hug.

Dear Baek,
I know you really wanted a christmas tree to put in your apartment this year but couldn't really afford one (with the decorations and all), and I'm sorry I couldn't get you one either because ooops I can't afford one myself T^T But omg hey look! A miracle happened over night! Can you believe it? Your favourite apple tree is now your very own christmas tree! Isn't it magical? kkk I worked really hard in the freezing cold to decorate it, okay? So you better believe in miracles in December, ara? hehe :)
Yours truly,
Chanyurrr kkk \(^_^)/
